Jazz Notes Radio Signs Off

It was just three months ago I began programming music for Jazz Notes Radio.  I really was enjoying the process and had seriously hoped more people would gravitate over.  After promoting the station on lists, Twitter and Facebook, listeners just were not there.  In fact, I never saw more than single digit listener counts.  Listeners did have the option on the web page to use PayPal and send a contribution, but nothing came in, and that was about what I had expected.  So when my opportunity came along to voice the morning show on Smooth Jazz Now, I felt that more people would benefit from my efforts there than with the little Jazz Notes Radio station.  It really was not that expensive to purchase the server and bandwidth, and the financial part really did not play in my decision.  I just felt I was spreading myself to thin to do everything.  So, if you've not come over to Smooth Jazz Now and checked out my show, I'm on every weekday,

6-9 eastern
5-8 central
4-7 mountain
3-6 pacific

Hope we can hook up there.

Steve B.

P.S. And if yu did listen to and enjoy Jazz Notes Radio, thanks for listening and I'm glad you liked the music mix.

New music, special features and a tribute tonight on Smooth Jazz USA

Hey smooth people:

After you survive Monday, how about joining me tonight for Smooth Jazz USA.  On the show tonight:

1.     Norah Jones will release a new CD "The Fall" on November 17th.  I've got the first single from this new CD and it's very different.  hear it tonight on the show.

2.     Several people have included special songs on their new CDs for the late Wayman Tisdale who passed away this last May.  Most recently, saxophonist tom Braxton.  But there's another artist who has included a very specail song about Wayman on his new CD and you will probably be really surprised when you hear it.  Surprised in more than one way!

3.     for a teacher, seeing one of your students succeed is so very rewarding.  At a recent concert, Kenny G took a moment between songs and recognized someone who made a huge difference in his life as a young student.  I've got the entire tribute and it's pretty cool.

I'll have smooth jazz news, and would you believe a new number one song and more.

I'll have the virtual coffee pot on and some virtual fresh brewed ice tea as well, so please join me this evening for Smooth Jazz USA.

7pm Central, 8pm Eastern, 6pm Mountain and 5pm Pacific, that's 0UTC Tuesday.

The show can be heard on:

The Global Voice

Radio For Life

Jazz Notes Radio
(Note: Since I have accepted the position of announcer for the morning show on Smooth Jazz Now, this station will be going off the air at the end of the month and this will be the final simulcast of the show on JNR.)

Peter White again this week, a big announcement and more

Hey smooth people:

Last week, Peter White was my special guest. All I can say is this dude is
a super guy. Toward the end of the show, I made a comment that I should
just play all now, 15 of his number one smooth jazz hits. I received
several e-mail messages and people thought that would be cool. So, yes, now
that Peter has snagged the number one spot on the chart again with "Bright,"
from his new CD, "Good Day," I am going to play all 15 of his number one
hits.

Plus, we will check out tracks from two new CDs:

Michael buble is in with "Crazy Love"

and trumpeter Greg Adams is in with "East Bay Soul."

Of course, if you missed the Peter White interview, you can catch it by
clicking on Last Weeks show on the web page plus, the entire interview is
also available under the Extra Show link as well.
