Smooth Jazz USA Tonight!

Hey smooth people:

I hope you were with us last week for the special show we did for the
Perseid Meteor Shower. Gail from Denver not only served as co-host,
but she picked all of the music we played on the show. The archive is
still on my web page if you want to hear it.

I've got a great show lined up for tonight. As usual, lots of new
music, smooth jazz news and a couple of real surprises.

New CDs:

Brian Bromberg - It Is What It Is

and

Hirshima - Legacy.

Plus, I will welcome as my special guest, Carmen Rubin who has written
a really cool book titled "Ashti Meets Birdman Al." The book is about
Ashti's encounter with Birdman Al in a park and her introduction to
jazz. I'll talk with Carmen about the book and find out what drove
her to write it and what's on tap for her future.

Also, I will play a track from a jazz choir where they create the
sound of a thunderstorm with their hands. This is really cool. My
wife found it and I can't wait to let you hear it.

so, there you have it, a jam packed show for sure.

Plus, Smooth Jazz USA will hopefully be simulcast on two affiliate
stations beginning tonight. If the technical part is all resolved,
this wil happen starting this evening. I'll let you know later if
everything works.

For now, have a great Monday and I'll see you on The Global Voice
tonight for two hours of some of the best music in the world.

Stay smooth!

so far anyway.

know so I can be sure to include that artist on the playlist.

It's a wide range of music from standards to some very upbeat and
entergetic tracks.
