out to be very interesting, I want to share it with you. Plus, we'll

I hope you were with us last week for the special show we did for the
Perseid Meteor Shower. Gail from Denver not only served as co-host,
but she picked all of the music we played on the show. The archive is
still on my web page if you want to hear it.
I've got a great show lined up for tonight. As usual, lots of new
music, smooth jazz news and a couple of real surprises.
New CDs:
Brian Bromberg - It Is What It Is
and
Hirshima - Legacy.
Plus, I will welcome as my special guest, Carmen Rubin who has written
a really cool book titled "Ashti Meets Birdman Al." The book is about
Ashti's encounter with Birdman Al in a park and her introduction to
jazz. I'll talk with Carmen about the book and find out what drove
her to write it and what's on tap for her future.
Also, I will play a track from a jazz choir where they create the
sound of a thunderstorm with their hands. This is really cool. My
wife found it and I can't wait to let you hear it.
so, there you have it, a jam packed show for sure.
Plus, Smooth Jazz USA will hopefully be simulcast on two affiliate
stations beginning tonight. If the technical part is all resolved,
this wil happen starting this evening. I'll let you know later if
everything works.
For now, have a great Monday and I'll see you on The Global Voice
tonight for two hours of some of the best music in the world.
Stay smooth!

Some great lightning and thunder, but not much precip at the house tonight,
so far anyway.
As I mentioned last week on the show, this week, I will feature tracks from
new CDs by saxophonists:
Jessy J. - True Love
and
Paul Taylor - Burnin'.
We'lll have smooth jazz news, celebrate some birthdays and much more.
Next Sunday (08/23) I will welcome as my special guest Carmen Rubin. She
has written a book titled "Ashti Meets Birdman Al" and it all about
introducing kids to jazz and getting them excited about our music. I'll
talk with her next week.
If you listen to smooth jazz on the net, I invite you to try my new station
"Jazz Notes Radio." It's on 24X7 and features a great mix of smooth and
contemporary jazz along with some classics you'll remember. Plus, you can
search the music library and make a request and it will be played for you
very quickly. To check it out, just go to:
We are currently looking for some sponsors to help us expand the station.
This programming note:
The Sunday Jazz Brunch on August 30th, will begin a two week celebration of
the arrival of the month of Saxtember. Got a favorite saxophonist, let me
know so I can be sure to include that artist on the playlist.
Enjoy the T-Storms and I'll see you on the radio, Sunday, 10AM, B98 for the
